Curriculum includes Energy, Water, High Tech and Space
Experienced teachers will provide course instruction, with support from industry professionals, college faculty and students. Problem-solving techniques and hands-on laboratory projects will be taught concurrently to reinforce students’ learning.
Students who complete this program will receive a certificate and, based on their 2007-2008 regular academic performance, will be invited to attend the 2008 Summer Engineering and Technology Academy for advanced students. Students desiring to be considered for the program must be enrolled in middle school in grades 6, 7 or 8 for fall 2008, and must also receive a recommendation from their math or science teacher
Each class, will be limited to 25 students and will run three hours, starting at either 9 AM or 1 PM, Monday through Friday. Sessions will be held at five different sites: San Jose State University, Santa Clara University, Sobrato High School in Morgan Hill, California State University-East Bay and Alsion Montessori School in Fremont.
